who am I and why should you care?
Tom Pula. That's my name
I am a landscape photographer. I assume that is why you are here. You either have an interest in highly aesthetic landscape photos and wall art (most likely) or you have an interest in me (not very likely).
Photography has been a part of my life since I was a teenager - it was a prerequisite for the architectural curriculum I was pursuing in college, and I fell in love with it. I've flitted in and out of the field professionally since then, but ended up following a more conventional career path as a business owner and contractor. But dreams of creating artwork with an impact never left me. I absolutely loved the idea that one of my photographs would be used in a publication, or be hung on someone’s wall or gallery.
I used to believe that what I like for MYSELF is the most important thing in creating a piece of art. After all, it's got to be something I love, doesn't it? True, but that would only be fully applicable and workable if I had an audience of just one - myself! So my goal is to communicate to others the awe and wonder I experienced at the time
Tucker the rescue beagle often accompanies me on my little jaunts to the wilderness area near my home and is sure to give me compositional tips.

I like to look at things differently. What about a scene drew my attention? What about it will approximate the emotions, or message that I received while viewing it? And how can I get that on film? And then what can I do to end up with an image which will evoke a similar emotion in someone viewing it?
